Dear Beer
Howdy, Chris here.
I mentioned in a previous post about Koshiba Takaaki-san, a hobby photographer, who spent a day in the brewery taking photos of Shinya and me as we slaved away. Koshiba-san came back again a couple weeks later, and on that day Bryan and Tetsuya were also there. The result is a photo show at Nakameguro Taproom titled Dear Beer: The People Behind the Foam.

Dear Beer: The People Behind the Foam
What Koshiba-san has created is a chronicle of the life of brewers in a small-scale craft brewery, and it is brilliant. “Beer isn’t produced in a factory*. It’s created by people.” The exhibition runs from December 4 through 26 — on the 4th, there will be an opening event at 5:00 pm, along with a slide show, comments by me, and Koshiba-san’s brother doing “live paintings”. Even if you can’t make it on the 4th, please plan on checking out the exhibition — you won’t be disappointed.
Cheers,
Chris
* Japanese doesn’t really have a word for “brewery”, instead using “koujou”, which literally means factory.

Sounds like a really good show, I’m a photographer myself and a regular at the Harajuku taproom. I think I will have to make my way down to Nakamaguro for a change of scene with the same great beer and some photos as well.
