Dear Taproom Friend & Baird Beer Enthusiast:
As the weather warms the importance of quenching people’s thirsts likewise rises. To that end, Baird Brewing gladly announces the debut of a brand new Baird Classic Beer Series seasonal brew — Fuggle Summer Ale.
“Fuggle” is the name of a traditional British hop and as Baird Fuggle Summer Ale is hopped solely with Fuggle, hence the beer’s name. Fuggle Summer Ale is brewed stylistically in the tradition of English summer ales. In addition to Maris Otter pale ale malt, twenty percent of the grist bill derives from malted English wheat which lends a crisp and tartly refreshing quality to the brew.
Fuggle Summer Ale greets the imbiber in deep tones of amber gold. The color enjoys a good clarity which hints at the beer’s refreshing character. In the glass, Fuggle Summer Ale is richly aromatic. We detect notes of honeyed fruit with hints of lemon. In the mouth, the medium body belies the robustness of flavor. The finish is sprite, dry and cleansingly bitter.
ABV is approximately 4.7%.
Fuggle Summer Ale will be poured from the Fishmarket Taproom taps beginning Wednesday, June 7 and will be available in very limited quantities at select Baird Beer retailers in the coming days. Please come in and join us for a pint while supplies last.
Reminder: The Fishmarket Taproom has re-opened on Mondays and business hours begin at 5:00 pm on weekdays (rather than 6:00 pm as previous). We continue to be closed for business on Tuesdays.
Cheers!
