The United States is an interesting country in large part because it has at its foundation a compelling idea: namely, that regardless of initial life station all people are endowed with the ability to strive and achieve their life dreams. This spirit of dreaming and achieving has animated the American craft beer industry since its dawn and has led to a modest renaissance world-wide in small-scale artisanal brewing.

It also has spawned the emergence of innovative new-world beer styles. One such new genre is the “American-style Strong Pale Ale.” Like its older brother, “American-style Pale Ale,” Strong Pale Ale is imbued with intense American-variety hop character and only medium to low malt body and texture. As with many younger siblings, though, Strong Pale Ale tends to overshadow its older brother with its brash assertiveness and unbridled self-confidence.

Today (Thursday, June 22), Baird Brewing is proud to announce the birth of Rising Sun Pale Ale’s younger sibling — American Dream Strong Pale Ale. American Dream, as we will affectionately call her, is everything a Pale Ale aspires to be. She is stealthy in her maltiness (Pale Ale, Pilsner, Vienna, Carared), precocious in her hoppiness (Nugget, Perle, Vanguard), and pleasing in her quenchingness. She will disappear from your pint glass with an alcohol kick (6.0% by volume) that leaves no doubt as to the grandeur of her dreams and the steadfastness of her ambitions! She is the American Dream in a bottle!

American Dream Strong Pale Ale is now being served fresh from the taps of the Fishmarket Taproom and will be available shortly at Baird Beer retailers throughout Japan. It also is available for direct purchase from the brewery in bottle-conditioned form.
