Dear Taproom Friend & Baird Beer Enthusiast:
The Taproom will be hosting a live musical performance this Saturday evening, October 21. Visiting from Tokyo will be a newly formed band whose musical forte is rhythm and blues and 1960s inspired folk rock. CMM&M will be kicking off its first acoustic set at 8:30 PM. Please plan to join us!
Baird Workingman’s Dark Mild will be in attendance and will be performing its flavor dance in your pint glass all evening long. This annually fall-released Baird Classic Beer Series seasonal brew makes its 2006 debut today (Monday, October 16) at the Fishmarket Taproom. It also will be available in limited quantities on draught and in bottles at select Baird Beer retailers throughout Japan.
Workingman’s Dark Mild is a session beer (ABV approximately 3.6%) robust in flavor. It introduces itself in autumn tones of amber-brown and with a proudly self-confident thick tan head of foam. Subtly rich notes of toffee, caramel and chocolate greet the olfactory senses. In the mouth, bready and biscuity notes join the ensemble. The feeling produced is one of wholesome satiation. But there is something more. A quietly playful underbelly of fruitiness (raisins and figs, perhaps?) sends the sweetness fleeing while summoning a zesty, refreshing character to lead the flavor enouement. The pint glass is empty and our day’s labor has been rendered all the more satisfying and worthwhile. Cheers to the Workingman!
